I’m still here, wide awake on the floor by the fridge, opening it every few minutes for cold water. The heat is unbearable. After a cold shower, I lay in bed damp in front of the fan and got about an hour of decent sleep before it became too hot again. This is the worst night’s sleep I’ve ever had. For a place like this, air conditioning is non-negotiable, no matter the cost. Summers keep getting hotter, and buildings need to be equipped to keep guests cool. Someone unprepared could die of heatstroke here.

The room was small, but just right for me, and surprisingly clean and cozy, almost like home. I stayed two nights. Getting there was easy: the hotel is near a bus stop, and the ride from the train station took about three minutes. The location was perfect. You can hear everything happening outside the rooms, so it may not suit people who are sensitive to noise. I’d absolutely book here again if I come back to the city.

I enjoyed relaxing in the little courtyard after work, especially by the cherry tree, which was full of fruit during my stay. It’s a peaceful spot, and the nights were quiet, a welcome change from hearing sirens and drunk people shouting during a previous stay in central Frankfurt. There are small restaurants nearby, Penny Supermarket is about a five minute walk away, and the train station is roughly a kilometer away. I’d stay again. It feels more like an inn than a hotel, tucked away on a quiet side street. My bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, hot and cold water worked, and everything else worked well too. The shared kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, and dining area. English speakers may find communication a little tricky because the woman in charge speaks only German. I missed the German email with the electronic safe box code for my room key while traveling, but eventually found her and she showed me to my room. After that, I used Google Translate on my phone or sent emails translated into German. She’s polite and very direct. If you expect a “yes sir, no madam” style, that’s not what you’ll get, which was fine with me. I saw another English speaker arrive and look lost, but they figured it out too. There’s a phone number on the confirmation email if you need to call or text.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. I’m writing to recommend Miss Meglena Stoyanova for a guest service representative position, as she impressed me with her communication skills and attention to detail.
