Best Western Premier Seehotel Krautkraemer

I arrived at 3am without a reservation, but sadly the hotel was full. The employee on duty, who spoke Spanish, was very helpful and made lots of calls to find me another hotel with a room available. Many places were full. I’m sorry I forgot his name, but thank you!

The service was bad. We booked two rooms, and one had no hot water in the shower. In the children’s room, the water swung between scalding and freezing, with nothing in between. At reception, it didn’t seem like anyone cared or was trying to help fix the problems. The children’s room was also an unreasonably long way from ours. Again, it didn’t seem important to anyone to try to change the situation.

The food was excellent, with plenty of variety, and it was fresh and continually replenished. Breakfast ran until 11 am. My only food issue was that there was no gluten-free bread or crackers. There’s also a lovely terrace with good service, and the pool is great. You can book a massage too. The whole place was tidy, and our requests and small problems were sorted out with help from Dagmar, who clearly knows hospitality. We stayed two nights, and the rooms, linen, and bathroom were pristine clean. The staff were polite and professional. The hotel is being modernized, which is welcome because the showers are old-fashioned, and the water temperature fluctuates so much that you have to keep an eye on it. We came away with a very good impression. Premier rooms have a spectacular lake view, and it’s worth walking around the lake.

The breakfast was what raised my score: salmon, lots of cheeses, several kinds of meat, good coffee and tea, orange juice, waffles. I’d give it five stars. My room and bathroom were rather small and not very modern, though certainly okay. I was pleased to have a coffee machine and cups in the room. It’s a little odd that they provide tea bags without a kettle, but I assume you can ask for one. The Wi-Fi in the room was far from perfect, and a steadier shower temperature would have been nice.
