The bed was my one real gripe: the mattress felt quite hard, which is a problem I run into at many hotels. Otherwise, it was a lovely overnight stay, and the room was huge. We arrived around 9:30 p.m., and the front desk guy was cheerful, incredibly kind, and got us checked in fast. He noticed the restaurant food we’d brought and offered cutlery and napkins. The room had linens for just one person, but when we called, he arranged for more to be brought up right away.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel looked clean and new. My room and double bed were both very large, and the TV was too. The bathroom was pretty standard for a new hotel. I skipped breakfast because more than €20 was outside my budget.

The room was okay, nothing beyond that. A kettle wasn’t provided, though to be fair it wasn’t advertised. The hotel refills the complimentary water bottles, but the bottle we got was filthy on the outside. We complained and received another one, which was dirty too. They’re all unsealed swing-top bottles, so who knows what’s happened to the water inside.

The hotel is a little outside the city, near Kunst-Akademie (Münster school of art and design) and the business area. You can get there easily from the main train station by public bus. There’s free parking on the street and some free spaces in the hotel yard, too. I only came for breakfast, which was a delicious buffet with plenty of choice. The atmosphere was great, the hotel very clean, and the service friendly. Staff kept making sure there was enough food and drink for everyone.
