See- und Waldresort Gröbern

A sandy beach with a barbecue area and volleyball on the sand, plus a little stand selling drinks and fast food right by the water. From the café restaurant terrace there’s a great view, including of the kids playing at the nearby Spielplatz. There’s another cozy café tucked into the shade. The lake is big and beautiful, with forest all around. A real gem for the region.

A peaceful spot with views of the lake. The houses are comfortable, clean, and have what you need to cook for yourself. You can go for a swim, too. I’d definitely come back.

We were very unhappy with our night at See Und Waldresort Groebern. We’re a French couple and had to get back to France the next day on several different trains. Weeks beforehand, we’d emailed to say we needed a taxi from the hotel to the station, and the hotel assured us a local taxi could pick us up. On the evening we arrived, we reminded them and were again told a taxi would be called for the morning. They also said a staff member would drive us if no taxi was available. But when I went down to reception that morning, there was no taxi, and I was told the hotel boss had ordered staff not to take responsibility for driving us. The boss was extremely unpleasant, wouldn’t speak to me in English, and only said, “I am not a taxi.” We had to run for 45 minutes, covering 5 km, to catch our first train. I want future guests to know how disappointing this was.

The room was cozy and nice, the restaurant was very good, and the staff were really friendly. I recommend it.
