River Bär

Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, and we enjoyed relaxing on the deck loungers now and then. My partner and I spent the Corpus Christi holiday aboard the River Bear cruise ship and had a great time. The rooms were modern and the staff very friendly. As the hotel had only opened on June 2nd, some of the service staff were still quite new, which showed here and there, but it didn’t bother me. I’d definitely recommend staying here. :)

The boat trip to just past Bernkastel was a lovely part of the day, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had Mother's Day lunch at the River Bär today. The food was beautifully presented, tasted excellent, and came with a good selection. Thanks for such a nice day. We’ll definitely be back 😊

The setting by the Mosel River, among the vineyards, is lovely, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic, whether you eat inside or outside. But the beer garden dinner was disappointing: there were wasps everywhere, and the spare ribs and red cabbage salad weren’t very good. In the room, there was only sparkling water, no still water, and no cotton pads or cleansing lotion. We expected some atmosphere on the boat, especially since the website mentions a bar on deck, but there was nothing to see and it felt dead.

The ship couldn’t sail because of a malfunction, and the buffet was a complete mess. The coffee machine was broken, so there was no decent coffee. They offered filter coffee as compensation, but that wasn’t available either because they’d run out. Very, very bad today. My first and last time sailing with River Bear. One star is already too generous. Definitely don’t recommend it.
