The hotel has easy access to Munich and Oktoberfest, and there is parking out front for €4 a night, though spaces can be scarce at busy times. The garage under the building costs €8 per night. For a more comfortable, modern stay, you may want to look elsewhere. The rooms are old and stuffy in summer, with no air conditioning, not even a window unit. Opening the window can let in unwanted guests, as my pictures show. The bathroom setup is awkward: a low shower head, a movable plexiglass screen, and a tub raised above floor level that's tricky to climb out of when wet. You need a physical key for the room. The door locks behind you each time, so remember not to leave the key inside.

The hotel has family rooms with two double beds, which work really well for a family with two kids. For Munich, it's great value. The atmosphere somehow reminded me of Eastern Europe or Russia.

Breakfast was great, and the shower worked well. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, and they can provide DB train tickets so you don't have to buy them at the station. The nearest station is only two blocks away, and an S train gets you to Marienplatz in about 20 minutes or to MUN airport. Our room was spacious and had the basics, but cleaning was a downside. There's no air conditioning, and with no mosquito nets, leaving the window open means bugs get in. I suspect rooms at the front may be noisy because of the restaurants, though that wasn't an issue for me. I stayed from 30th May to 2nd June.

For the low price, the quality was okay. The place was clean and quiet, and the service was fine. The only drawback was no air conditioning, so with four of us sleeping in one room it got hot.
