For the price, I thought the facilities and central location were a good deal. The room had what I needed for a short visit and was both comfortable and clean. It was easy to get around the city from here, and the staff were helpful and friendly when I had questions. I had a good stay and would consider coming back. 😊

The place has a lively feel, with lots of young people around. When we needed to switch rooms, the receptionists were really helpful. Rafi was especially fun to chat with and so kind. I love this place!

There’s a party atmosphere here, so I wouldn’t choose it with young children. We also had trouble with the doors: they seemed to need a slam to close, and my friend’s sleep was interrupted by other guests’ doors. I had earplugs and slept fine. Even with that, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels that weren’t as nice. Our private twin room was huge, bright, spotless, and had an ensuite. The shower was hot with strong pressure, and the mattresses were comfy for a hostel. Staff were warm and helpful, and we got a free coffee when we arrived. One tram takes you straight to the old town. It’s extremely good value.

The shared kitchen was in awful shape. It smelled bad, nothing seemed clean, and food was left around the sink for more than two days before it was finally cleaned on our last day. The tables were dirty too, with many people not cleaning up after themselves. The bathroom smelled terrible all weekend. In the dorm, the bedside lights and charging points didn’t work for four of the six beds. This was the first A&O hostel that left me disappointed. The staff weren’t very friendly, and poor communication caused a few problems with our dorm booking. My friend and I had booked a female dorm, but when we got there, we were given a key and sent to a room where a man was asleep. We went straight back to reception to explain. The staff said they had told us it was a mixed dorm, then spent about ten minutes checking the computer before giving us a key for a female dorm. That room itself was fine. But the next day, someone was in the bed I’d slept in. It turned out beds were assigned, but nobody had told us which ones were ours when handing over the key. Bed numbers were printed on the cards, but we were only told the room number. Since the numbers were “1, 2,” we thought they meant the two people staying in the room. I hope staff make sure to explain bed assignments so future guests don’t have the same unpleasant surprise.
