There wasn’t an onsite kitchen for cooking or a washer and dryer, which made a family stay inconvenient. The room itself also felt old and gloomy, with only two tiny ceiling spotlights and two small bedside lights, so reading a book was impossible. The floor was very dirty, and I don’t think it had been cleaned. The worst part was the service and the shower. The water temperature kept swinging from burning hot to cold. I called reception, and two staff members came to check. One said it was “just normal” with an annoyed look and unpleasant attitude, without even turning on the hot water. We were a family with two young children. We could put up with it, but my kids shouldn’t have to. They didn’t really try to help. Sometimes good service can make up for a poor property, but that wasn’t the case here. We had a very bad experience.

The lobby was a nice place to spend time with family, and breakfast was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly, and it was a big plus to have Spanish-speaking staff. Our room was quite large and comfortable, and the location was excellent, very close to the main train station (HBF). This was the third hotel from the same chain I stayed at on this trip, and it was spectacular. The only thing I missed was laundry service like the one in Berlin. Highly recommended.

We would not recommend this hotel at all. It was the worst experience we’ve had with this chain. The property was run down, there was mold in the bathroom, cleanliness was poor, and construction materials were all around during ongoing renovations. There was noise constantly, even late at night, and people knocking on doors. The next morning, we saw a naked person walking along the hallway, which was completely unacceptable, especially for a family trip. The front desk service was rude and disorganized, and some comments felt discriminatory even though our reservation was correct and fully paid. Then, at 7:00 a.m. on checkout day, someone opened our locked door despite us not requesting housekeeping.

The location was convenient for the train station and popular places in the city, and the ongoing construction didn’t affect me during my stay. The four-bed women’s room had a good amount of space for four, without feeling cramped. But there’s no AC, and even with it 15°C outside, the room was too hot. The bathroom wasn’t clean, and the shower didn’t drain, so I stood in a puddle. The lockers were too small, and if you got unlucky with the tiny one, it couldn’t hold anything.
