Novotel Suites München Parkstadt Schwabing

The first morning, a receptionist stopped us at the breakfast area even though our booking confirmation clearly said breakfast was included for all four nights. I showed and forwarded the email, but was told the breakfast didn't count because we'd booked through a third party website. No other guests seemed to be questioned or stopped. We felt singled out and discriminated against, and when I said this was the worst hotel experience I'd ever had, the receptionist raised her voice and yelled, “Do not ever come back to this hotel.” Telling a paying guest to never return was shocking, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Our problems had started the day before. We arrived at 3:00 pm, the official check-in time, and were given a room key, but the room hadn't been cleaned. We had to stand with our luggage in the hallway for 45 minutes while housekeeping got it ready. The manager saw us waiting and said we could discuss compensation later. When we returned to speak with her, as she had asked, she refused our polite request for something like laundry service and said we'd missed our chance. That made no sense. The delay, the promise of compensation that went nowhere, the refusal to honor breakfast, and the hostile treatment left us feeling this hotel has serious management and service problems. I'd strongly caution others before staying.

Breakfast is well worth adding to your stay. It's an easy, affordable, tasty way to get the day started. Parkstadt shops are nearby, with plenty of places for food and shopping. For authentic German food and hospitality, Alte Heide is less than a 10-minute walk away. The rooms are cozy, quiet, clean, spacious, and amazingly comfortable. The front desk staff couldn't have been better, and made me feel welcome right away. I'm still in the middle of a week here, but wanted to post this now. It's my first time in Munich, and I'm visiting from the US. The hotel is farther from Aldstadt and Munich's history than I expected when I booked, but the U-bahn or tram still make all of that very accessible. Yay, Germany!

naifal and Edin at the front desk were so friendly, and all the staff helped make my stay comfortable and pleasant. The hotel was clean, and the housekeeping team worked really hard. I had a wonderful stay. Thank you to everyone.

Mr. Mahari was at the counter and was very friendly, doing his best to help all the guests. He was cooperative with anything we needed, whether visiting for personal or business reasons. The hotel is very good, with first class service. Staff speak German and English. It's comfortable and near the subway, about 2.8 kilometers from downtown.
