Hotel Tilman

The hospitality was the worst.

My motorcycle was safe in the garage, and the bed was firm but comfortable. The hotel is clean and good value, with nature on one side and town on the other. After an hour of checking out the options, I thought the restaurant might have the best food in town 😆.

The food was the biggest letdown: the quality was poor, and some dishes seemed stale. A few classmates also had trouble with broken restrooms that apparently were never fixed. Reception staff were unfriendly, and housekeeping was only so-so. Hotel Tilman is in a convenient spot, with short walks to the training cemetery and the Federal Training Center for Funeral Directors. The room was old-fashioned but functional and generally clean, though the carpet didn't seem well cared for. There was no Wi-Fi, which is pretty standard these days. It's acceptable for a quick overnight stop, but the service, food, and facilities need a lot of improvement to make a stay pleasant.

After a long workday, a couple of freshly poured beers in the evening hit the spot. I've been staying here once a week for more than ten years, and the room has always been clean, the beds fresh, and the heating on in winter so it's nice and warm.
