Such a lovely hotel, and the train station is cute too. Everyone was so friendly, it’s hard to believe I’m in Germany 😆🤭

Every dish was a pleasure, both in taste and presentation. You can tell the restaurateur really cares about the craft. The whole team gave the meal such attentive service. We had a delightful time and can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

We went to Gleis 1 for the first time after the change of ownership, just after Christmas in December 2025, and I honestly didn’t expect this. I’d imagined hearty food, but the meal was much more of a surprise. You can just pop in for coffee or a beer, without having to order food, or come for a proper gourmet meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and people can easily drop by. I treated my wife to braised ox cheeks and tortelloni. The ox tongue came sliced, with a delicate taste and a subtly flavored sauce, alongside wonderfully creamy mashed potatoes, if that’s what you’d call it. My large black tortelloni had a filling whose aroma alone made the trip worthwhile. It came with a warm salad and no sharp, acidic dressing. It looked almost too small for my typically Franconian build, but it took me longer than usual to finish, and I was quite full. We also had dessert because my wife spotted the pumpkin parfait. It was sliced, gently nutty, and served with pieces of apple. Like the rest, it was flavorful without being too sweet or too heavily spiced. I only remembered that the menu had something chocolate-related, which was enough for me to order it. It turned out to be a cake with a warm filling. Since last year, my benchmark has been the chocolate bar in Chemnitz, and Gleis 1 (Platform 1) matched it for being good, clean, and delicious. The layout has a bar near the entrance, three tables, and a main dining area on the other side that seats about 30-40 people. The building is basically a modernized train station, with even a porthole into the signal box. There’s plenty of parking right beside it, plus more free spaces at the central parking lot, about a 3-5 minute walk away. The owner has lots of catering experience, so you can book events here too. The menu also had salads, fish (I think it was pike-perch, though I’m not a fan of blubber), and a meat dish. It’s centrally located, the food is good, and the service was quick and attentive. Relaxed atmosphere too. See you again soon!

At GleisEins we had the mixed platter and roast veal in cream sauce. Both are highly recommended. The place feels very cozy, and the service was super friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back.
