The view across the frozen lake was a real treat, almost like being in Finland while still near the Black Forest. I also found Sophie at reception incredibly attentive, and it was clear the management cares about guest satisfaction. There’s lots to do, from tennis and squash to the saunas, and both breakfast and the buffet were varied and very good. I had a great stay at the Aramis Hotel in Gaufelden. See you soon!

The management took the time to explain what had happened and followed up with several actions. They also made some kind gestures to my family, as shown in the attached photo. Life isn’t perfect, and not everyone is willing to own and fix their mistakes, but Aramis handled it well. Thank you for the gesture. This came after the awful experience I described in my earlier report: despite having a confirmed reservation, we arrived at 22:30 to find the door shut and nobody at reception. The night bell and phone rang without an answer for an hour, so we had to sleep at a nearby hotel, where the service was much more attentive to customer satisfaction. Turning a problem into an opportunity is part of doing business well.

The meals were better than I expected after seeing complaints about the food. I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and thought they were quite good. The staff were super friendly, and the setting is great if you want some peace and quiet. My only gripe is the lack of air conditioning. When it’s over 30 degrees outside, that makes the room uncomfortable, and it’s definitely something to improve.

Good badminton courts, and a nice place to play sports.

10/10
It’s a calm, beautiful area for a relaxing stay, though the location feels a little out of the way. The hotel is very well looked after, the staff are friendly and cordial, and the food is great. There are good options for indoor activities too.
