Best Western Hotel Erfurt-Apfelstaedt

Breakfast was plentiful, and there was plenty of parking. The hotel was spotless and the service was great. One of the best Best Western hotels I’ve stayed at, 10/10.

The portions at the restaurant were ridiculously big, in a good way. I got what I needed on my trip: a clean room, nice surroundings, and perfect customer service.

The rooms and breakfast were great, but the staff left a poor impression. They barely had time to greet guests or smile, even though they seemed to expect guests to do so. Dinner was a disaster. The food was overcooked, and the service staff weren't very welcoming. It seemed like nothing had been cooked in the kitchen for the buffet, and that cheap frozen food from Edeka, Rewe or Lidl had just been warmed up. People in the dining room were making really negative comments, but they were hungry and had to eat. The meal cost Euro 25, and the hotel needs to improve the quality of food served to paying guests. I didn't expect this from Best western standards.

The hotel was the only lively spot in the burg, with its restaurant and bar. It's close to Erfurt, though otherwise in the middle of nowhere. We had a pleasant stay, and that's what counts.
