Hotel Garni Schmid

The internet was slow, the service was bad, and the room I stayed in had no soundproofing. Be prepared for noise.

Top-notch.

The room was comfortable and very clean, with a TV and an en-suite shower bathroom. There’s also a terrace on the same floor where you can smoke or relax. The location is quite remote, but very quiet, and there’s a bus connection. We only stayed one night and were satisfied overall. Breakfast had been promised when we booked, but it wasn’t available. They did tell us when we checked in. Reception was quite dry and matter-of-fact, though still friendly, and you have to sort things out yourself. Our key card was in a labeled box at the unattended reception on the first floor. Since we’d booked online, we could have used a door code and avoided speaking to anyone, but we didn’t know that and asked at the butcher’s shop downstairs, where the reception is.

The single room felt sparse and outdated, with cable TV offering just one channel. The shower, toilet, and room itself all need renovation. The restaurant was closed because of staff shortages.
