RiKu HOTEL Neu-Ulm

We were in Ulm during a heat wave that lasted 2-3 days, and the rooms don’t have AC. There was a fan, but it wasn’t enough. There’s no small fridge in the room either. The hotel was clean, breakfast was OK, and the staff were helpful. The location is good, with the center about a 10-minute walk away and a shopping center within walking distance. Keep in mind reception and the hotel bar both close at 10 p.m.

I booked a family room expecting four properly arranged beds, but got three fixed beds and a rollaway awkwardly set at the foot of the main bed. That was uncomfortable and unacceptable for a hotel in this category. The manager, Anja Sophia Rueß, insisted this met the hotel’s standards and wouldn’t acknowledge a problem. I raised it at reception, but no one offered help or an alternative, and the staff didn’t seem willing to assist. I was very disappointed, especially since the hotel had initially looked like it was up to a good standard. Be cautious when booking. Look closely at the photos and consider whether you’d be comfortable sleeping in those conditions. If not, I encourage you to share your concerns directly with management.

Basic, but done very well. It was clean and comfortable, I slept well, and the staff were lovely.

We’d stay here again. We booked a family room as part of a Legoland package, and it was spacious and clean, with a good bathroom. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful, and breakfast was excellent in a bright, spacious room. Getting to Legoland takes a short train ride and a shuttle bus, but the hotel is less than a five-minute walk from the station, so it’s very convenient. It’s also just 30 seconds from the Donau, lovely for an evening walk. There are bakeries, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby, and it’s a short walk across the river to the sister town Ulm.
