The crew were wonderful, and I loved the place. If you’re coming without a reservation, try to arrive early enough. I’ve tried three times before, and it was always closed.

The bedrooms have been improved since my earlier visits, and the staff were extremely friendly, especially toward my better half, who speaks only Brazilian Portuguese. The food was always great, breakfast included. I used to stay here many times on a Friday night before starting a week away, sometimes two, but haven’t been back since corona.

The restaurant was amazing, with fabulous wait staff and food that can’t be beat. The price was very good, too. At the desk, they were really helpful and found an off-street parking spot for my motorcycle to keep it safe, though I had to ride over the sidewalks to get there. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in town.

Sadly, Hotel zur Krone has closed after 135 years. We’d been visiting since the Seventies, and it was excellent. Thank you for the wonderful service and hospitality.

The room and beds were very clean and comfortable, the price was good, and breakfast was amazing. It’s close to the border and was the best hotel on our trip back from France. It’s not luxury, but for ordinary people it’s one of the best choices. I’d recommend it without any doubt.
