The location is great, but I found the apartment unwelcoming, poorly cared for, and not suited to winter. It also looked quite different from the listing photos, and I don’t want to stay there again. We were there over Christmas, with as many as seven people. The apartment is mostly above the garages, and the floor was freezing. The radiators stopped working on the first evening, though they were fixed right away. Even so, we only had summer blankets for the nights, with no extras for daytime or getting cozy. The linen package had sheets and towels but no bath mats, and household basics like dish soap and dishwasher tablets weren’t provided. The bathroom toilet seat looked at least 15 years old and smelled of urine. To me, the place felt neglected and unloved, more like living in junk than enjoying old-world charm. There were pots without lids, a scratched frying pan, no oven mitts or chopping board, and not one sharp knife. Some cutlery was provided, along with lots of wall pictures and decorations, but more than half the cheap plastic-handled cutlery wobbled. One bed squeaked and another seemed about to give out. All the mattresses were hard, and the down pillows would be a nightmare for allergy sufferers and a paradise for dust mites. The three-bed room had an old carpet but no wardrobe.

The price is reasonable, and the accommodation is nice, though a bit dated. There are just two bedrooms: one has a double bed, while the other is an open room with four beds and no partition.

The location worked well for us: Heide Park is a 15-minute drive away, Panzermus in Muster is 30 minutes away, and Bremen takes about an hour. In town there’s a Lidl, an Edeka, a pizzeria, and around two inns. The apartment was generally okay, but old-fashioned and paneled throughout. It’s on the first floor up steep stairs, so it’s not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. The kitchenette was fully equipped with a toaster, electric kettle, and drip coffee machine. But the owners provide no towels, soap, or toilet paper, which felt stingy. The Wi-Fi was odd. I have a Samsung, and even after logging in it barely worked. My son has a Xiaomi and didn’t complain. Payment is in cash, but on arrival the owner didn’t have 4 euros for change and never showed up. That was more embarrassing than inconvenient. On departure, none of the hosts were there, so it wasn’t clear what we should do with the keys.

A nice place for a few days in a quiet neighborhood, not far from Edeka. The accommodation was well equipped, though I did miss having a washing machine and dryer for clothes. Parking in the yard made me completely satisfied.
