Pension Grenzhof

We slept wonderfully in the super comfortable beds. The hotel and restaurant are clearly lovingly run, and the food is fantastic without costing much. There’s a good range of beers at the bar, especially the Czech ones. We’re very happy with our stay and will definitely return.

The restaurant was closed, apparently since the ownership changed, and the overnight stay felt far too expensive for what we got. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, but Deutschgeorgenthal itself looks run-down, with lots of empty houses. We were greeted warmly during our one-night hiking stop, but the place gave a neglected first impression: an old sign from the previous management was still up, the curtains were only partly hung, and the house smelled musty. Inside, the furnishings were clean but old, and the private living area wasn’t clearly separated from the guesthouse.

The breakfast is outstanding, with a Vietnamese influence and a personal touch. What really stands out is the care and commitment put into serving and looking after guests. A truly first-class stay, you’d be missing out if you skipped it 👍

We were just passing through and stayed one night. The accommodation was clean and fairly priced, and breakfast was very good, especially the omelet. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly. I’ve rarely met anyone so cheerful. They serve traditional German dishes as well as Vietnamese food, which we really enjoyed.
