The food had tasted good when we stopped in for a tasting, so we booked the restaurant for my partner's birthday. The evening itself was a disaster. There was just one starter left and only one vegetarian dish, with a baked potato so tiny I wasn't sure our vegetarian friend would have been satisfied. Our portions were small too, and one guest had to order more because he was still hungry. When my partner brought up the special offer at payment, the only reply was that business was slow and the restaurant would soon be closing. The value for the price just doesn't add up, and we won't be back anytime soon. I ended up making myself a sausage sandwich when I got home.

The beautiful garden is being redesigned at the moment, and the surrounding area looks great for hiking or biking. Inside, there's the classic manor house feel. We enjoyed the game dishes, and there were options for children and vegetarians too. The wines are fine, with a good choice of wine and beer overall, and prices are moderate. The young waiter was friendly and attentive, though a little unsteady. Crumbs left on the floor from breakfast? Nothing complicated to sort out. Overnight stays with breakfast are available. We'd be happy to come back!

We stayed in a separate country house as a family group of 20, and there was loads of lawn for barbecues and for the kids to play. The kitchen was brand new and fully equipped. Everyone was happy with the setup, the food was really good, and the staff were lovely. Great value for money, hard to beat.

The homemade noodle and chicken soup was the only part of the buffet I enjoyed. Everything else tasted stale and looked unappetizing. We were there for a birthday party, and the dining room's decor and atmosphere felt like they were from 1990. The place has no style. The waiter kept forgetting our drink orders, left dishes uncleared, and came across as completely unsuited to the job. I found his service unacceptable and incompetent. For me, this restaurant is a no-go, and I can't see how the food, service, or especially the ambiance could improve. I'm baffled by the positive reviews. Maybe it's enough for the area, but I don't think the world needs this restaurant. Sorry.
