The balcony view was a highlight, and we slept really well under the typical German-style duvets. We spent nine days at Haus Bayerwald and felt welcome from the moment we checked in. Having a small kitchenette meant we could make coffee, breakfast, and snacks ourselves. We ate at the on-site restaurant a couple of evenings, and both the food and service were excellent. There’s also an indoor pool and sauna. We had a great stay and would happily come back.

I’m still staying here, so this is just for now: the food is tasty, and the staff are excellent with guests. The two women in the restaurant work so hard. I hope they’re paid well for it. I mean the short woman with grey hair and her colleague; I hope I can ask their names. The woman at reception with purple hair is lovely too.

We’ve kept coming back because we love this place. My husband first came as a child, and this is his 17th visit. Now our own kids come along too. The rooms are plain but have what you need, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. There’s a sled run right beside the house, with sleds you can borrow. The pool feels a bit cold for the children, though it would be just right for swimming laps. The restaurant food is great, but the portions are too large. We also love the delicious bread from the delivery service, which works perfectly for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. During the savings weeks, you can get a real bargain holiday.

It was hard to find activities nearby that suited a toddler, which is why I’m giving four stars. Still, we had a great visit. Our two-year-old loved the pool and playroom, and had fun outside too, even though he was a little young for the playground. The staff were really friendly and helpful with our energetic little one.

The rooms were clean and decent, and the parking lot was well kept. The dining room was so noisy, though, because the acoustics are awful. The pool also looks much bigger in the photos than it really is, and what’s called a sauna is actually a UV cabine. An average, reasonably decent hotel.
