We came for dinner, not to stay at the hotel. The two rump steaks, one medium and one medium rare, were good quality and nicely cooked. The food was excellent value, and the restaurant had a friendly staff and a good atmosphere. I don't agree with earlier comments that the interior looks dated, as it was refurbished fairly recently. It was quite busy, so the only improvement I can think of is having another waiter.

The staff were friendly, but the food wasn't especially tasty. You get plenty of it, though quality seems to take a back seat. It's fine to try once, but I wouldn't choose to eat here again. This small town doesn't have many options, so the place gets busy. I'd go if I couldn't be bothered to cook.

They made us feel at home, and the service had a genuinely welcoming, authentic feel. There were plenty of delicious traditional dishes to choose from. If I lived in Nideggen, I'd go every week. The Aperol Spritz was mixed much too strongly, and there were very few vegetarian main courses, so that's the one star missing.

The Jägerschnitzel and pork Medallions were both excellent, with generous portions and a really good menu. We stopped for dinner in the beer garden after a day at the Rursee in August 2020, and had a great meal. The staff were very friendly, too. Dinner for two with drinks came to around €45, and I'd happily recommend stopping here.
