Best Western Hotel am Schlosspark

The nearby scenery is beautiful and easy to reach on foot, which made the stay especially nice. My standard room was clean and came with tea and coffee. The restaurant had only a small menu because of the “scamdemic,” but what I ordered tasted good. Breakfast was good too.

The breakfast had a great choice of wonderful things, and every guest seemed to feel welcome. The staff were perfect, very friendly, and we’ll choose this hotel alone when we’re back in the Chemnitz area. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed.

We made several drives into Chemnitz and the surrounding villages, where there are plenty of historic villages, châteaus, and small castles. Dresden and the famous Saksische Schweiz are nearby too. The hotel itself sits in a quiet village outside Chemnitz, so having a car is essential. It’s built on a low hill across several buildings: reception, the bar, restaurant, meeting rooms, and breakfast hall are in the upper building, linked by a hallway to four lower buildings with the rooms. Some rooms look down the hill over the surrounding hillside. Ours was modern, with a desk, television, Nespresso coffee maker, enough room for clothes, and a shower in the bathroom. A very nice château that visitors can tour is about 250 meters away, with a Gaststätte and café nearby. We had a great stay, with a nice room, good breakfast, and friendly staff. The breakfast hall got a little crowded when large groups were there. We spend about 30 nights a year in hotels, and rate this one an 8. A very nice hotel in a peaceful setting.

A four-star hotel that caters mainly to business guests and seminars, though it’s also a nice choice for a short holiday.
