Adler Hotel & Gasthaus

Room 18 was roomy, with lots of windows for fresh air. There wasn't any air conditioning. I didn't see a hair dryer, though I'm not sure whether you can ask for one. You can request a fan for the room.

The train tickets were included with our stay, which was handy for trips to Lindau and around the region. The hotel is close to the station, and we could park behind it, where our old Targa felt safe. Our room was nicely furnished and spotless, the breakfast was very good, and the people were friendly. I'd gladly recommend staying here.

The food was the best I've had in a long time. We ate at the restaurant last night, and the staff were helpful and friendly too.

We were in Nonnenhorn for Ham Radio 2013 at Messe Friedrichshafen, and the area was fantastic. The lake was about a three-minute walk from the hotel, with the pier and ferries less than five minutes away. We stayed four nights in June, my dad and a friend with me. Having driven from London, we couldn't be sure when traffic and ferries would get us there, but the staff let us check in at 21:45. They were polite, helpful, and spoke good English, which helped since I don't speak German. We had a double room and a single, both nice and fine for what we needed. Each had an en-suite toilet, a small sofa and table, desk, TV, and fridge. The double bed was two singles joined together, and we separated them. Dinner at the hotel was good quality and reasonably priced, and the place had a friendly feel. Breakfast was the usual cereals, meats, cheeses, and breads, plus bacon and scrambled or boiled eggs. I'd have no hesitation recommending The Gasthof Adler. I plan to book again for 2014.
