We were especially pleased with the location. It was quieter than some other villages, yet Bernkastel-Kues was quick to reach, and there are several other lovely Mosel towns nearby. Mr. Morbach suggested Beilstein, which was such a good tip. That little village is romantic and lovely! Cochem and Eltz Castle are also an easy drive away. We stayed three nights in a double room with breakfast included. The room was spacious and very clean, and they even brought fresh towels every day. Breakfast was good and filling, with no pressure about when to come down. The price was good for what we got. Mrs. and Mr. Morbach are very kind people, and their wine tastes great. We enjoyed a simple, pleasant tasting. I liked how easy and personal it was, with no fuss, and we could choose which wines to try. We definitely recommend their Weinhof for a few relaxed days in the region!
We had three nights here, and the garden was a lovely spot to unwind in the evening. The food was delicious too. Getting around was easy: the house gave us a free bus pass for Traben-Trarbach or Bernkastel-Kues, and the stop is only a five-minute walk away. Moselle cruises leave from a dock along the riverbank a short walk from the house, though those trips cost extra. The hosts gave us a warm welcome, and our room was clean and well furnished. Breakfast had everything we wanted, from fresh rolls and bread to cold cuts, ham, cheese, jam, quark, eggs, and good coffee. The location is very central.
The bus stop is right outside, with free rides to Traben-Trarbach and Bernkastel using a VRT ticket. Good value for money, and they also sell nice wines. Our double room was simple but lovingly furnished, very clean, and had everything we needed. The hostess was attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good, with bread and rolls, ham, sausage, eggs, jam, quark, fruit, and a small choice of muesli. A highly recommendable place to stay!
Around 10 in the morning, we stopped briefly beside our hotel to load our luggage into the car. We were there for no more than a minute, all the parking spaces were free, and we were returning the luggage trolley when a short-haired blonde woman, who looks like the owner on the website, told us in a very unfriendly tone to leave immediately. We explained at once that we were about to go, but she again insisted rudely that we drive off right then. We found this completely inappropriate. Even if someone thinks a car has been parked incorrectly for a moment, they can bring it up in a polite, respectful way. For us, this was completely unacceptable. The communication and tone here were unfortunately not okay.
We were staying at the hotel next door for a weekend in May and spent each evening in the vineyard. It was cozy, the prices were very good, and the hosts were so friendly. They had little snacks for us too. Everything was just right.
