Hotel Zum Kaffeekännchen

For a 2-star hotel, I’d give it 4 out of 5. It was pretty clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, and the simple breakfast was good. The host was very kind and tried hard, even though they didn’t speak much English. I loved the mini restaurant, it’s decorated really stylishly. I couldn’t pay by card, though.

The owner is a very sweet, caring woman who clearly loves her job. I don’t agree with the reviews calling the breakfast bad: there was fresh, crispy bread, a good range of cheese, ham, meat, jams, and cereals, plus plenty of tea, coffee, and juice choices. You also get a nicely cooked egg, and the breakfast room is cozy and lovely. The coffee is very Nordic style, so espresso or cappuccino machine coffee fans may not like it, while filter coffee drinkers probably will. Maybe another coffee machine would win over the cappuccino crowd. The price is reasonable, and I’d recommend it for a night. My top-floor room could use some care and renovation. It felt cold and neglected, with just a bed and a TV that didn’t work. I’m sure they may not know about the TV, and it should be easy to fix. The mattress was okay and the bathroom had what I needed. Rooms on other floors might be nicer, so check the other reviews.

A good stopover motel: clean, with very friendly staff who served a great breakfast. I’d use it again when I need a comfortable night’s sleep.

A small hotel, but the service for guests needs improvement. The owner only speaks German.
