The apartment was great and well located, with everything you need for a stay in Nuremberg. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. It’s about 10 minutes on foot from the central train station and 9 to 10 minutes from the subway station. There’s no reception and no keys, since everything is handled through your phone, so make sure it’s always charged!

We felt uncomfortable for the entire night, and the area didn’t help. It was very dirty, with a lot of homelessness around, and residents across the street stared at us intrusively whenever we stepped onto the balcony. We didn’t feel comfortable or even remotely safe. Two knocks came at our door around 6 p.m. on arrival day; when I asked who was there, nobody answered, and nobody was visible through the peephole. Nothing else happened, but it added to the uneasy feeling. My wife definitely wouldn’t feel safe there alone. We chose not to raise the problems with the hotel then, since we’d only booked one night and didn’t want to spend our short time in Nuremberg arguing. The only staff member we saw in the lobby seemed uninterested in guests, spoke as little as possible, and watched videos loudly on her phone. She also looked unkempt and unprofessional. Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony. Cleanliness and hygiene were completely absent. The bedroom and bathroom floors were filthy, and the blanket at the foot of the bed had been carelessly tossed down, covered in other people’s hair. The kitchen pots, pans, and dishes were worn and dirty, so we didn’t use them and brought our own food and cutlery. The refrigerator was dirty too, the kettle was heavily scaled, and we didn’t even check the coffee machine. The bathroom smelled pungently sour even after airing it out. The shower hadn’t been cleaned: the glass was dirty, a hair was stuck to the shower head, the grout was filthy, and the drain was damaged. We were relieved we’d booked just one night and could shower at home. The room door had clear signs of forced entry. Its damaged frame looked as if it had only been patched temporarily with two screws and painted over, which gave us no confidence or sense of security. The toilet door was also badly damaged by a tool. It looked forced, and could easily be opened from outside with a coin or shopping cart token. Completely unacceptable. The double bed was just two worn-out mattresses pushed together, and sleeping on it was abysmal. We didn’t get a good night’s rest. The heating malfunctioned too: even set to 18 degrees Celsius, the temperature suddenly rose above 21, and airing the room didn’t help. The only positives were that we didn’t have to sleep outside, and public transport and a small supermarket were an easy walk away. There’s nothing else good to say. I’m writing this to warn people looking for a hotel in Nuremberg and encourage them to choose somewhere else. It was a truly unpleasant and disappointing stay.

A pleasant spot, and the old town is close by.

On the way home from Portugal, I stayed here with my three young children. At exactly 10 a.m., housekeeping knocked and came into the apartment. That was when I learned checkout was at 10. I asked for an extra hour to pack and leave without rushing. The cleaner spoke only a little English, but told me it was fine. Then, at 10:20, a man showed up speaking arrogantly and demanded payment within ten minutes, asking if I understood. When I asked for the hotel manager, he said he was the manager and repeated that we had ten minutes to leave. I've traveled all over Europe and never been treated so outrageously. I can't recommend this place, and would strongly advise against staying here.
