We paid 350 euros for five nights, including December 1, even though we didn't stay there that night. The hotel had its own taxi and bus, which made it even more frustrating that nobody offered us a transfer. They also wouldn't waive the charge for the night we missed. I want a refund for December 1. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. We were left waiting with heavy luggage at a dark station in the middle of the night, and it felt like money was all they cared about. Our flights were delayed twice on December 1. At around 21:30, while we were facing a crowd at passport control in Munich Airport, I called the owner of the Richter Hotel and warned that we might not arrive until 00:30. The conversation was rude. He asked why I hadn't told them our arrival time earlier and said my card details were wrong. After the long wait at passport control, we took the metro into Munich, but a fault on the train line meant we didn't reach Munich HBF until around 23:00. We then caught a train to Murnau, the nearest station to the hotel in Oberammergau. On the train, I called the owner again because we'd miss the last bus from Murnau to Oberammergau. I asked about a local taxi or Uber for our arrival time. He said neither was available, and told us to stay in Murnau overnight and check into the hotel at 07:00 on December 2. Murnau is 24 km from Oberammergau, but he didn't offer to drive us there. We reached Murnau at 01:30. The next bus was at 05:10, and our first lesson at school started at 07:50, so we waited at the station with our heavy luggage for three hours. Then we took the bus to Oberammergau and went to the hotel.

The room was really comfortable, and the staff were so helpful with everything. We had a very nice stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend it.

The location made it easy to explore Oberammergau and the nearby sights. I loved the guesthouse's charming Bavarian architecture, cozy rooms, and warm hospitality. It was a really memorable stay, and I'd highly recommend it.

The hostess was friendly, breakfast was okay, and the candlelight was a nice touch. It's clean, mostly quiet, and well located near the bus and train stations. In Oberammergau, nothing is far away anyway. But the old floorboards creak loudly whenever anyone walks in, leaves, or moves around, whatever the time. The walls are thin too, so nearby conversations come through clearly, along with TV, coughing, throat clearing, and other sounds. Most of all, I specifically asked the hostess not to enter my room, and she kept doing it. As a paying guest, I should be able to decide whether my room is serviced, especially for a one-week stay. She said okay, then ignored my request and privacy. If saving gas or energy is the reason, just leave guests a note. Anyone can understand that, but once you accept guests, respect their privacy. My request wasn't unreasonable. Don't come in for a few things and leave as if I won't notice. That's why I'm giving two stars. There are plenty of other charming, pleasant places around here to try.

Breakfast had a good variety and was tasty, and the mini bar had decent prices. We also got free bus cards for travelling around the region, and the hotel offers free Wi-Fi. The staff were welcoming, very nice, and helpful. Our rooms were very clean.
