Our first visit to Schwarzer Adler in Oberbergen was a treat, from the restaurant meal to the hotel stay. We loved looking through the legendary wine list beforehand and finally ordering a few exceptional bottles. The food was excellent, and the Keller family and staff made us feel so welcome. We hope to return soon.

A lovely spot for dinner. The food was good and the staff were nice. There seemed to be quite a few new people serving, but they were doing fine. Some dish descriptions may have been a little brief, though we spoke only English and not everyone was as comfortable in English, which is understandable in Germany. Highly recommend.

We took the Boxenstopp package, which came with a four-course tasting menu at Rebstock restaurant across the road. The village is wonderfully quiet among the vineyards, and we enjoyed a circular walk up the hill opposite the hotel, with amazing views on the way back. On Wednesday evening the hotel was very quiet because its main Michelin restaurant was closed, but Rebstock was fantastic, more relaxed and with a great range of wines by the glass. I usually find wine pairings poor value in the UK, but this one was stunning. Great for walks, cycling, wine and food. We'll return for a two-night package with both restaurants.

We had a lovely lunch here, with superb food and service. The wine list was wow, wow, wow, and the wines by the glass were fantastic too. A must-go address.

This is one of my favorite places, and I love coming back. The wine selection has more than 2,700 options, mostly old-vintage Bordeaux and Burgundy, though there are plenty of other wines too. The food is Michelin-star worthy, and the staff are highly skilled, especially the sommeliers. It's the kind of place I want to visit before I kick the bucket. The rooms are wonderful and breakfast is delicious. Book your room and table well ahead.
