Landgasthaus Hofmann

Our kids were big fans of the Legos, and the daughter who helps run the place was friendly and down-to-earth. This family-run B&B and restaurant is spread over several buildings on the edge of town. The main building's rooms were nicer than those in the rear guesthouse. There's a playground and a rather rickety trampoline behind the beer garden, next to what may be a small farm with horses, geese, and sheep. It's private, so you can only see the animals from the field or empty lot, but that was still nice. The food was okay, and breakfast wasn't great. The place has a nice feel, though. Her mother was a bit cranky. Parking was easy.

We stayed here for a night with our two young children while driving from Sweden to Legoland in Germany. The rooms were nice and the staff were friendly. Having a microwave and refrigerator was a big plus. We did wish the room had air conditioning, and that breakfast offered a few more choices.

Breakfast was excellent and well worth the price, especially the scrambled eggs. The clean guest room had a bright, nicely designed bathroom. The apartment has wooden decor and lovely surroundings, with plenty of nature and some cute animals. It seems like an ideal place for families with children.

The restaurant is good, reasonably priced, and clearly popular with locals. This place was a pleasant surprise: it's very well kept and offers more than you'd expect for a basic room rate. There's no luxury here, but the price is even better. A handy location for a stopover or for exploring the area.
