In Kleinbreitenbach, the art trail is well worth seeing. The property itself is beautifully kept, and its charming half-timbered houses catch your eye from a distance and make you want to stop. Sadly, the owners plan to close the café at the end of 2025.

After a walk, this is a lovely spot to take a break. The owners are warm and welcoming, and there’s organic coffee alongside tasty cakes made in-house.

The garden-view holiday apartment was really nice, though I did notice some old cobwebs and dirt in the trash. On Sunday evening we were charged 7 euros for two pieces of cake, which had been made on Friday.

After walking to see the orchids and the art trail, we ended our outing on the terrace. The outdoor seating is lovely, and the service was friendly. There’s a big range of homemade cakes, all delicious, with vegan choices too.

The hosts are so friendly, and the cakes and food are delicious. I’ve been coming back for years to this wonderful spot in one of Thuringia’s most beautiful natural areas. Absolutely top-notch! 👍
