We spent the night here on October 03 2015, our first stop on a short trip through the Black Forest. It was very quiet, way out at the end of nowhere. Breakfast was very nice, and the room was clean and roomy enough, with the toilet and shower in the room.

The owners are both so friendly, attentive, and competent that you feel welcome and well looked after right away. The food is freshly prepared, consistently excellent, and incredibly affordable, with generous portions too. A fantastic inn if you’re after good food at a fair price! Best regards, Peter and Anja

We were seated in a beautiful, nicely decorated room, but the service and food were a letdown. Drinks were ordered before we’d even taken off our coats, then took 20 minutes to arrive. The children’s meals came fairly quickly, but our food was so delayed that we couldn’t eat together. My wife’s arrived after we’d been sitting for an hour, and mine came another 5 to 8 minutes later. It was the wrong dish, but I ate it because I didn’t want to wait any longer. No one asked if we wanted more drinks. The woman who seemed to be the owner came over and blamed the waitress, which felt completely unfair to me. They said it was busy, though there were two tables of two and one table of eight. Including us, that would make three tables. They offered coffee for us and ice cream for the children, but we declined. The steak was sinewy, the schnitzel dry, and the fries tasted strange. It had a high Google rating, but this was our first and last visit.

The rooms were beautiful and newly renovated, and breakfast was incredibly tasty and generous. The hosts were super friendly, and you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Thanks for such a wonderful time, we’ll definitely be back! 💛
