We came back each year for a few days and always had what we needed for a nice short stay in Elbingerode, at a very fair price. Ms. Heyder was there to help whenever we had a question or were missing something. We’ll be back again for sure.

The grounds and the view are idyllic, and the landlady is very friendly, but after five nights we’re anything but rested. The apartment is tiny for three people, with hardly any room to move, and the mattresses are worn out. The bathroom and entryway smell musty, and our child got athlete’s foot in the shower. The furniture is old and worn, and there aren’t even three water glasses. The smoke detector hadn’t been serviced and went off at 3:30 a.m. for no apparent reason. This place urgently needs renovation, and after that it should only be rented to two people at most.

From the balcony there’s a lovely view, and the apartment is in a handy central spot in the heart of the Harz. Restaurants, a supermarket, a bank and bus stops are all walkable. It’s cozy and quiet, with everything you need provided.

We had a great short break, the three of us, in the small apartment. Everything was there and matched the Booking.com description, and Ms. Heyder was exceptionally nice and accommodating. I can’t speak for any other apartment, but the bad review from Ella Barcelona doesn’t fit this one. For up to three people, this place was perfect.
