The price felt reasonable for what I got. I was traveling alone for work and chose to sit indoors for a quieter meal, even though there are tables outside too. The asparagus soup was creamy and tasty, and the trout was cooked just right. It came with skin and bones, which seemed like a good sign of freshness, and the bones and skin were easy to deal with. There was fresh salad, steamed potatoes, and two homemade sauces on the side. I even stayed relaxed enough for an affogato, and they were happy to make it with decaf espresso when I asked. I'd recommend it. I selected Rooms because there wasn't a Food rating option.

The family running the restaurant were attentive, warm, and personal throughout. I'd been anticipating the roast goose leg for ages, and it lived up to it. It came after a nice mixed salad with autumn vegetables, with good dumplings, rich gravy, red cabbage, and a tasty baked apple alongside. I finished with an affogato, or iced coffee. A really lovely meal.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the other main courses seemed good. But our sides were disappointing: there were six of us, and none of us liked the potatoes, dumplings, or salad much. When we brought it up, we got the response, "Well, it's been sitting on the table for a while now 🤣…" My braised ox cheeks tasted as if they'd been made in a convection oven, and the meat wasn't what I'd expect from braised beef. The potatoes didn't seem fresh either, and the so-called vegetable side was only broccoli.

The meat platter tasted good, but the portions were odd. I've never been served just a third of a sausage or a quarter of a hamburger before. At €22.80, I expected a whole sausage and hamburger, and the herb butter was frozen. A shame.

We felt comfortable and well looked after here. The hosts were so kind and friendly, and the restaurant was cozy. The service was excellent. We'd happily come back!
