Parkhotel Oberstaufen

The kids loved the pools, and our room was clean with a beautiful view. We had a great stay, and breakfast was good too.

We had a balcony room, and the balcony was one of the biggest we’ve ever had. It looked over the park and the hills beyond. The hotel is in a quiet part of town beside a beautiful park, and the staff were great, with some fantastic dinner recommendations. It was convenient to reach the pool and sauna from the elevator without passing through the lobby. Breakfast had a great selection. We’d love to come back for longer.

We had plenty to do even on a rainy day, and the kids loved the pool area. We all ended up in the jacuzzi and had a great time. The hotel sits in a calm, restful setting. It’s more than 35 years old, but the wood, design, and style details are fantastic. We stayed with our two-year-old twins in room 220, the most spacious room. I was amazed as soon as I walked in. It had two balconies, a living room with a TV and dining area, two bathrooms plus a toilet, a jacuzzi, and a connecting door for larger families. We were also given two kids’ beds. Parking is right in front, with a huge children’s play area next door and a supermarket nearby. Dinner was fantastic, with an open buffet for starters, a menu for the main course, and a kids’ menu that worked well. Breakfast had an amazing selection, including an à la minute egg station. The waiters were very kind and always there for us. Imagine what it would be like on a sunny day.

I booked a stay at Lindner Hotel Oberstaufen months ahead, but they cancelled it just two weeks before I was due to arrive. The message said that from June 30, 2025, the property would leave the Hyatt portfolio, so World of Hyatt benefits, including earning and using points, would no longer apply. It also said my reservation wouldn’t be honored automatically because of the transition, and I could rebook directly with the hotel at its current available rates. That’s unacceptable. My confirmed booking is now worthless, and I’m left scrambling for somewhere else at a higher cost, with no help, compensation, or accountability. If reliability and basic professionalism matter to you, stay far away from this property, and think twice before trusting Hyatt.
