Breakfast was really good quality, with some unusual choices that felt right for a family-run place. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, and clearly did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We were only there for one night with the whole family, and because of the price we chose the hotel, which we didn't regret. The reception smelled lovely from all the spices on display. We were given a nicer room, and it was really lovely. It was very hot while we were there, and there was no air conditioning, but that was fine for us.

We had to get the bill corrected quite a bit because it didn't match the price we'd agreed on, which I already thought was very high. The whole hotel felt improvised, and the reception staff seemed overwhelmed all the time.

We felt more comfortable at the Kräuteralm than anywhere else and have already booked again for next year. Everything was excellent, from the owner to the staff. Oberstaufen is definitely worth a visit. Rosi and Wolfgang

The Bircher muesli is homemade, and the owner or his lovely partner cooks the scrambled eggs. But the breakfast conversation with Hans-Jürgen is the real must. It's always worth the trip. There are some pretty expensive wellness hotels around here, so I have to hold back one star. For value, though, it's definitely five stars. Giving five stars to everything can feel like doing someone a favor, and you have to consider the whole range of hotels when you're a Google search guide. Last time, I told Hans-Jürgen we were coming to see him as a person, not just the herb-themed restaurant. 😂😂

Hans-Jürgen and his team at the Kräuteralm in Oberstaufen put so much care into their guests' well-being. He's a boss who really looks after people. As always, we had a wonderful stay and would love to return soon.
