Almsternchen 1

The six flights of stairs are worth knowing about. It's a hillside building and not suitable for people with mobility issues. The building seems to date from the 60s or 70s, and the stairwell shows its age, though that wasn't really an issue for us. We brought two e-bikes, and getting them into the designated storage area was tricky. The alternative was carrying them down two flights to the storage room. I didn't want to do that on vacation with bikes weighing over 20 kg each, and I'm relatively fit. Of course, not everyone brings bikes. The apartment itself was lovely, very high quality, and beautifully furnished, with a fantastic view over Oberstdorf. Everything went smoothly, and the contact person on site was friendly. But the landlord's photos make it look as if the bedroom is on an exterior wall with a window. In reality, the sleeping area is integrated into the living space, and the pictured window opens into that living area 😉. There's no exterior window in the bedroom or bathroom. The apartment is recommended with reservations. It's a shame, because the place itself is really lovely.
