We only ate at the restaurant, and the food was terrible. The deer was very dry and didn't have much flavor. The entire plate was covered in a pepper-orange sauce that tasted chemical and just off. The waiting staff, apart from one woman who brought out the plates, seemed aloof at best. We also had to order an expensive salad plate to get some greens, and it was mostly iceberg lettuce in what tasted like store-bought dressing. It wasn't cheap altogether, either.

The food is an interesting take on creative Bayern kitchen, and seems rather popular. The location is nice, with easy access to other parts of the village. The room was clean and comfortable in winter, with the regular farm style you see in this region. The reception is quite small, but the hotel suits different kinds of travelers.

The portions were a good size and the food was good. Even with how busy they were, the service was very good. Having the menus in English helped a lot, too.

We've stayed at Saschas ten times since 2006, which says it all. The location is excellent, the cuisine outstanding, and the rooms clean and spacious. The staff are friendly.
