Getting to the Holzerzstube is easy on a well-marked hiking path from the "Sensbacher Höhe" viewpoint, and there’s plenty of parking close by if you’d rather drive. Inside, it’s a welcoming, traditional family-run place in the Valley of Love, with rustic tables and a comfortably warm dining room. The homemade apple cider is especially good with the hearty food. Helmut, the owner and chef, serves everything from Kochkäse and fresh salads to generous meat dishes, all homemade and very tasty, at remarkably fair prices. There’s always a real smile and time for a friendly chat, which made us feel appreciated.

The beer garden has a lovely view across the valley. We stopped there at 3 pm on Friday after cycling over, had a couple of beers and something to eat, and really enjoyed it. The food was very good, and the owner serving us was friendly and soon got chatting with us. Highly recommend it. We’ll come back.

It’s best to book a table for dinner. The restaurant is small, but pleasant, and its rural setting is great for cyclists, hikers, and bikers. The menu is small and home-style, with very tasty food and good prices.

The family makes you feel welcome right away. The rooms are cozy, and the food is a real highlight, both delicious and served in generous portions. I love spending weekends here to hike and enjoy being out in nature.

The Holzerstube is an easy recommendation, and I’d gladly return. It’s quiet on the edge of the forest, with a fantastic view, and I found the place really relaxing. The house and room were clean and well kept, the food was hearty and excellent, and the innkeepers made me feel at home at the regulars’ table from the start. Sometimes the owner brings out his accordion, and the singing and yodeling create a great atmosphere.
