Gutshof Hotel Arosa

The main street location is worth knowing about, but the hotel itself was clean and the service was good.

I was there for about three weeks around four or five years ago. Such a great place, really extraordinary...

I can’t point to anything positive from this stay. I paid €75.00 a night and wasn’t expecting much, but basic cleanliness and somewhere to sit comfortably in the evening should be a given. I’ll have to return to Ochtendung regularly for family obligations, but I won’t stay here again. The Booking.com reservation itself went smoothly. On arrival around 5:00 PM, though, there was no one to hand over the room in person. I had to look for a phone number, then call to get the code for a key box and collect the key myself. The bathroom was the worst part. The toilet was damp and covered in yellow deposits, so I had to clean it myself. The trash can under the table still had empty beer cans from the previous tenant. Several seals and trim pieces were also damaged or coming loose. There was hardly any usable furniture. The only seat was a small, old wooden chair that I couldn’t really use at around 100 kg, so the bed was my only place to spend the evening. The roughly 50 x 50 cm table wobbled badly and was no use either. The next morning, at about 7:50 a.m., someone apparently tried to open my door by mistake, knocking loudly as well. It startled me awake. I called out, “Yes, please?” and got only a quick apology. Later, when I came back to freshen up, I found the heating seemed to have stopped working. The room was cold, which is especially unacceptable in December and would likely bother anyone sensitive to the cold.

We were there for a family celebration, and both the food and the service were very good. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t say anything about the rooms.
