The hotel has an old-money feel that I really liked. My room was neat and clean, and it’s a two-minute walk from the station and four minutes from the city center. The toilet was a bit small, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

We got in late after a long trip from the airport, but the man at reception still checked us in at 2 a.m. The hotel is beautiful, with old, upper-class decor and craftsmanship throughout the building. The rooms are roomy, with high ceilings, good beds and useful amenities, including tea, coffee and a kettle. The bathroom was lovely and clean, and the bedside light switch made it easy to settle in for sleep. The rooms were warm, and there was free Wi-Fi and a TV with free-view satellite channels. Brilliant hotel.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was alright, but I’d check the area before booking. The surroundings felt messy and noisy. People screaming in the street woke us twice during the night, and I didn’t feel safe outside after dark. The train station is very close, though, so you don’t have to spend long outdoors if you’d rather not.

The rooms were quite clean, with a nice view, and I was impressed by how luxurious the bathroom felt. Service was straightforward and good. The only letdown was breakfast, which cost €10 per person.
