The courtyard was lovely, and there’s a cafe underneath the hotel. The building looks nice, though finding the narrow courtyard entrance by car was a bit tricky. A nice place to stay.

I had no complaints. The host was warm, gracious, professional, and helpful. When I mentioned I was in town because Bach had lived there, she pointed me to memorials I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. She was outstanding at balancing American and German social norms at once, which can be hard to do without some cognitive dissonance. :)

We stopped by on our bikes and enjoyed good ice cream and iced coffee in a quiet spot with a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. A couple of days later, we arrived half an hour before opening, and the owner kindly served us anyway, saying, “We can’t have you starving.” 😆
