HIIVE Oldenburg

The rooms are a good size for business travel, with an open layout, and the blackout curtains are great. In summer, it feels like night at 5pm 😁. My room was quiet even though it was right by the elevators. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in over the last two years. I’d happily return anytime.

The only confusing detail on arrival was the garage description. It mentions black doors, but they’re dark green. Also, I’d keep the windows shut at night, since trucks seem to load and unload for much of the night, probably at the building across the street (Amazon). The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, beautiful interiors, and is very clean. It deserves the 'Design hotel' label. The parking garage is fantastic and well worth the fee. Highly recommended.

It’s an easy 6-8 minute walk to the old downtown, and the rooms are new and well designed. Since pets are allowed, unfortunately there can be dog hair on the floors. There’s no room service, so you have to go to the restaurant downstairs to eat. Breakfast was a standard European spread, nothing special.

The rooms are kind of okay, but the service doesn’t justify the high price. Management is among the worst in the region, the staff are poor, and they seem to post vacancies every month. The current reviews are faaaaake.
