Right on the beach promenade in Binz on Rügen, this was a dream holiday apartment. We booked apartment 10RB12 at Villa Aegir through Rujana at short notice and were really pleased. It was spacious, had everything we needed, and the view was fantastic. We'll definitely return.

Apartment No. 6 is lovely, with a great spot right on the beach promenade overlooking the Baltic Sea. The bedroom window at the back opens onto the stairwell, so you can only air the room indirectly. There's also a restaurant with a terrace directly below the apartment on the ground floor. In the kitchen, given the price, I expected better equipment: a dish brush, sponge, proper corkscrew, working toaster, and garbage bags would all have been useful.

The location is so peaceful and idyllic, with direct access down to the beach, and there's an elevator straight to the apartments. Ms. Sehlke was so kind and helpful, and I want to thank her again for letting us move in so quickly. We spent a wonderful week here with our disabled son. The apartment was very clean, and both bathrooms worked really well for us: his wheelchair fit under the sink, my shower chair fit easily in the shower, and he could get around both the apartment and living area with his walker. Top marks from me. Thanks, we'll be back soon. Warm regards from Trebendorf, the Husse family

The sea view and location right on the promenade were lovely, but it felt clear that nobody was investing in the upkeep. We booked and paid for luxury in the Villa Aegir penthouse, and the disappointment started with the advertised Jura coffee machine. What we found was an old, neglected Saeco automatic machine, dirty inside. I brought good beans, but lost my appetite for coffee. The regular coffee maker was badly scaled, too. While looking for a frying pan, we found some really unappetizing things. There was a stainless steel pan, which we cleaned, but no spatula and no advertised egg cooker. The kitchen faucet was very loose. It was fixed quickly, but loose again when we left, and the caretaker had also told us about it. The shower enclosure looked dreamy in the listing, but was very dirty. We had to clean the whirlpool ourselves. The coating was already peeling off some jets, and the drain plug wouldn't stay shut. Turning on the jets creates suction that could easily cause an injury. The apartment's bicycles were unusable. The saddles couldn't be adjusted or locked in place, one bike had completely loose handlebars, and the tires were flat. Renting bikes nearby was difficult because the nearest shop was already fully booked. We were very disappointed, and the landlady showed no understanding. After a long email exchange, she offered a €100 refund without accepting any legal obligation. Given the rental price and the problems we encountered, that wasn't acceptable to us. On the last day, after our complaints, we were given a Jura machine taken from the apartment below, along with new pans and an egg cooker. Even then, the handling felt half-hearted: the egg cooker had no measuring cup, so it couldn't be used, and the Jura had no milk hose, so we couldn't make cappuccino or espresso. I strongly advise against booking an offer from the supposedly charming Binz Pearls if you want a holiday without disappointment. I have to give it one star, otherwise I can't post.

We keep coming back to Villa AGEIR Wohnung 7, and it hasn't disappointed us yet. The apartment itself is lovely, with two bathrooms, a nice living room and a small separate nook. Its first-row position overlooking the Baltic Sea is fantastic, even as the apartment ages and the town and surroundings change quickly. Binz has everything you need for an easygoing Baltic Sea holiday, with all its romance and beauty. The climate and beaches stay the same. We always take long walks, sometimes along the beach as far as Bäckerei Peters in Sassnitz. Those walks make up for anything that isn't perfect.
