Villa Vogue No 7 Meerblick

Apartment number 7 is right on the beach and luxuriously furnished, but it hadn't been cleaned when we arrived. We waited two days for a partial cleaning and, for example, had to clean the toilet ourselves. Binz Exquisit's explanation was that the high volume of bookings made it impossible to clean the apartment on our arrival day. Nobody told us this beforehand. If they had, we wouldn't have booked. We also couldn't get into the apartment at first without our neighbor kindly helping us. I strongly advise against renting an apartment booked through Binz Exquisit.

We stayed at Villa Vogue No. 1 in July 2019. The beach location is wonderful in summer: Villa Vogue sits between two large hotel complexes, and you just cross the promenade to reach the beach. The architecture is great, but our apartment didn't live up to the location, with constant noise and inaccurate descriptions. Right in front of the terrace is a snack area used by the neighboring hotel and other tourists. Speakers by the terrace blasted noise into it, making a quiet nap outside impossible. With the windows open, our young children couldn't nap in the afternoon either. Once or twice a week, there was live music in the evening, reaching up to 95 dB(A) on the terrace and up to 60 dB(A) inside with the windows closed. That's about as loud as a lawnmower outdoors and a vacuum cleaner indoors. The agency said, "The noise from the surrounding hotels also contributes to the apartment's prime location. This is quite normal in a holiday area during peak season, and unfortunately, you always have to expect it." The sea view was only partial and from the side. When we booked, the description said there was an "all-round" sea view, including from the bedrooms. With small children, it was especially frustrating that there was no way to darken the bedrooms. The external and internal sliding elements offered sun and privacy protection, but no blackout at all. The apartment also had very limited furnishings for a holiday rental. There were no shelves for bathroom items in the showers, too few towel hooks for four people, and nowhere to dry, hang, or store swimwear. The agency's answer was, "It's a vacation rental, which is obviously not as fully equipped as an apartment where you spend your entire life." With the noise and the agency's response, the vacation wasn't relaxing for us and left us frustrated. For this price range, we found the agency unreasonable.

From the balcony of this apartment, you can see the Baltic Sea. It's on the second floor, on the right, and includes an underground parking space. The building is very quiet overall, and the apartment has all the amenities. It's centrally located, only a few minutes' walk from Binz center, and right by the beautiful, wide beach of fine Baltic Sea sand, about 30m away. Villa Vogue is between the Arkona Strandhotel and Rugard, so evenings can get noisy when they hold outdoor events. This year it happened only rarely because of Covid. In normal circumstances, it could quickly bother people looking for peace and quiet, though that comes down to personal preference. We were very satisfied and would clearly recommend it. 👍

The listing gave the impression that the apartments were wheelchair accessible, so I asked about it. The owner of the Strandläufer apartment said the bathroom doors are only 80 cm wide, which isn't enough for many wheelchair users. What a shame, because otherwise the apartments would have been perfect for us.
