I don't understand why this place calls itself a restaurant. We asked if we could sit down and were told no, even though there were only a couple of hotel guests there at the time.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but after our first café visit this became our usual stop in Prerow. We liked sitting in the sunshine on the patio, and the self-service was quick, friendly, and efficient. It made it easy to linger without feeling bad about taking up a table. The boys were happy to make this a daily routine, and we were too. The cakes won us over, especially the sea buckthorn, then apple and orange, with lots of other tempting things in the counter.

We just came in for coffee. The fresh sheet cake with almonds, a butter cake, was delicious and nicely priced, and the raspberry slice was really good too. Coffee is self-service, with it available outside each table.
