The location is the hotel’s biggest strength. Hotel Seeschloss Sellin sits right by the sea, and the sea-facing rooms have fantastic views. Everything in Sellin is nearby, making it a convenient base for exploring. The staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and cozy seating. Breakfast was average, fine, but nothing memorable. For a 4-star hotel, though, the room amenities fell short. There was no bathtub, and the toiletries were basic: one hand soap and 3-in-1 shower gel. The bed was acceptable, but the low-quality pillows were uncomfortable and affected my sleep. We were first put in a room with an unpleasant smell, so we had to change rooms and pay extra to upgrade. That wasn’t what I expected at this level. The sauna area is very small, and hotel parking is quite limited. There’s free parking nearby, but on-site parking requires booking one of the more expensive suites. Our stay in Sellin was great, and spending most of our time out meant the hotel’s shortcomings didn’t affect us too much. If you plan to spend more time at the hotel, I’d look at other options or book a sea-view suite for a better experience.

The breakfast, included in the room price, felt like a luxury. Our room was airy and clean, with very high ceilings and a lovely view of the forest and blue skies. All the staff worked hard to make the stay pleasant, and Michael Grollmitz deserves a special mention for being there when we needed him most. From the day we arrived, we were treated so warmly. We’d never had a welcome like it anywhere in Europe. They showed us to our room, explained how things worked, and shared practical advice, things to do, and free services, including transport within the Ostsellin region. People really do make a difference to a stay. I’d give this place 10 stars. Thanks for making our holiday memorable.

The building is really nice and the location is fantastic, but the basic things that make a stay comfortable were totally off. The restaurant also felt dirty and in bad taste, with lots of fur pillows and fabric that seemed super unhygienic. Tables were very close together, and people were invited to eat without any health safety measures. Strange.

The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We had a great stay at Seeschloss Seelen, with clean, well-kept accommodation and a nicely laid-out spa. It had a Finnish sauna and a Turkish sauna, showers, plus a spacious cooling area and lounge with chaise longues overlooking the ocean. Dinner offered varied, tasty dishes, with craft beers from the Störtbecker brewery. The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, including eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit and cereals. On-site parking is limited, and if a space is available it costs €10 per night. Off-site parking is a couple hundred meters away, and spaces there are scarce too. For reasonable prices in a lovely setting, it’s a place to consider if you like being pampered.

Very disappointing for the price, €200 a night and water still wasn’t included. The breakfast looked cool but tasted really bad, with only cheap products. The place wasn’t clean, and the Corona safety measures were zero. Only a few rooms are really nice, with sea views, and those are the most expensive.
