We just arrived and are thrilled. It really lives up to its name, in my opinion. The setting is beautiful and quiet, with the beach only a short walk away and a shopping center nearby. The town center and pier are also easy to reach on foot or by resort train. There are lovely restaurants and shops there. The Rasender Roland is close too, and I highly recommend taking a ride. I don’t know what some people are complaining about. We’d happily recommend the place and will definitely book again.

We were four in the family for a week in July. The log cabins look beautiful outside and were well equipped inside, but the bathroom was much too small, especially the shower. The walls are so thin we could hear the neighbors snoring and making other noises. Cleanliness was disappointing too: there was dirt under the couch that looked like it had built up for years. The little oven grill needs replacing, and when we cooked once, steam from the cupboard above the stove dripped back into the food because there’s no extractor fan. We made it work, but while Sellin is always worth visiting, we’d suggest finding another rental with a better price-performance ratio.
Our holiday was nice, but Strandschlösschen really doesn’t deserve its name. The place is badly neglected, with spiders everywhere, including inside. The sofa is so sagged that you can feel the frame, and I don’t think it’s possible to sleep on it. The rest of the place feels rather grubby too. It’s a shame, because with a bit of care it could be a lovely house.
At first the place seemed cozy and pleasant, but the longer we stayed, the more problems we found. The property is in poor condition, and the attached photos show only the most obvious issues. With children, we wanted to do some cleaning ourselves, but there wasn’t a bucket or mop. There was a vacuum, the loudest I’ve ever used, but it barely picked anything up until we cleaned its built-in filter, which looked caked with months of dirt. Even then, we had to go over the same spot what felt like ten times. The kitchen was equipped with a random assortment of leftovers and only the bare essentials. Even a lemon squeezer was missing. The knives were so blunt that small children could have played with them safely. Some blinds were broken or missing, and the dirt under the completely worn-out couch looked like it had been there since last year. The filthy, worn toilet brush in the tiny 3-square-meter bathroom was the icing on the cake. This holiday home isn’t worth the money. I’d gladly stay in Sellin again, but never in this dump.
Everything was within walking distance for our long weekend with friends at Strandschlösschen: the beach, a bakery, several bars and restaurants, the pier, and the shopping area. We had a wonderful time, and the modern sauna and Smart TV were great for relaxing in the evenings. Highly recommend it!
