The room was modern and spotless, and the service was excellent. I was in the area to collect a dog I’d adopted from Slovakia, and staff kindly brought dinner to my room because that was easier with the new dog. The food was fantastic. I booked a superior double room with a terrace. Some family-run German guesthouses badly need renovation, but this hotel didn’t. Parking was free with lots of spaces, and there was a lovely beer garden, though it wasn’t warm enough yet for it to be open. The “small” six-euro breakfast was more like the full buffet at big hotels charging around twenty-five euros, except the food was cooked to order. Each table had a bread basket and a tray of meat and cheese. Eggs were made how you wanted, and there was a wide range of usual continental breakfast options, replenished if you asked. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

The food is outstanding, and the Family and staff make you feel like one of their own. I’ve travelled to lots of countries, but nowhere has matched the people and food at the Ludenbach. It’s one of my favorite places in the world. The restaurant is top notch, and people come from the big City of Köln to eat there. Head Chef Andreas keeps changing the menu and cooks with fresh, high quality ingredients. It’s great seeing the 3rd generation starting to help out at the hotel. You can’t go wrong with a meal or a stay here.

We were here with family for a wedding nearby, and the staff made us feel right at home. They were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of traditional German rolls, fresh cheese, and meats. A special thanks for entertaining our overtired 1 year old grandson and bearing with his tantrums over breakfast that first morning. We’d definitely recommend the place.

The restaurant was better than I expected, while breakfast was good but nothing special. It’s a comfortable family-run hotel, with a pleasant outdoor garden and a nice general feel. Recommended.
