Herdegen Rooms - Self Check-In

Everything was available in the room, which was clean and neatly arranged. The self check-in and check-out were great. It's right in central Passau, a short walk from the main station and just behind Stadtgalerie.

There are restaurants, cafés, and a supermarket just around the corner, and the location makes this a good-value place for a night or two. It's about a 15-minute walk to Veste Oberhaus and the docks, and only three minutes to Passau Hbf. The beds, toilet, and shower were clean and comfortable; they also provided bottled water, tea, and coffee. There was a handy spot inside to leave our luggage before picking up the key. The tricky part was getting in. A few people had the wrong code or none at all, and needed to call reception, especially those who'd booked at short notice. The communication around codes and key collection could be smoother. On a happier note, my daughter left her favourite teddy in the room for a few hours after checkout, and the lovely staff helped us get it back. A++

The place is in a great spot, near shops and restaurants, and the rooms are clean and tidy. There's a pedestal fan for cooling. Several guests, us included, had trouble getting in with the door codes. WiFi was advertised but didn't work, and no compensation was offered. We asked for help four times and got responses that were rude at best. It's a good idea and a nice property, but the management needs work.

Right in the centre of Passau, with clean rooms that have what you need. We had a coffee maker in ours.
