Hotel Feiertag

The heating barely works, and the old kitchen equipment and sink are in poor shape. Only one hotplate works, its heat settings have worn-off numbers, and there’s no extractor fan, so cooking means opening a window that isn’t near the hob. There’s no air conditioning either, and the rooms are dim with just a ceiling light and a small bedside lamp. It’s hard to see when cooking at night. No restaurant, just a vending machine. The place does have a vintage old-house feel, with spacious rooms, lovely large windows in both the room and bathroom, and plenty of daylight. It’s a small two-floor building with 12 rooms, just as the hotel name suggests. The location is excellent, in a quiet neighborhood near the center, and the price is affordable. WiFi is okay. The corridors have armchairs, little tables and lots of standing lamps, but none of the lamps had bulbs. Maybe they were stolen.

Good value, and handy for the train station.

The apartment we booked was clean and comfortable, with a kitchen, fridge and the basics for cooking and eating. The pension itself is friendly enough, though generally just so-so, neither especially good nor bad.

There’s loads of space in the room and a full kitchen. Just try to ignore the ants in the bathroom at night. Sweet dreams.
